Rates
Maternity care is covered by the basic insurance and is not subject to the deductible.
For home maternity care, a statutory hourly co-payment applies. In 2026, the hourly rate amounts to
€5.70 per hour.
This may be reimbursed in full or in part, depending on your supplementary insurance. Always check your own policy for this.
(LIP)
The standard indication from the National Maternity Care Indication Protocol (LIP) is
49 hours for breastfeeding and 45 hours for formula feeding. However, there is significant pressure on maternity care in the Utrecht region. To be able to offer appropriate maternity care to as many families as possible, I therefore work in principle with an indication of a maximum of 36 hours per family. Naturally, the care needs of mother and baby come first. If medical or special circumstances arise during the postpartum period requiring more care, the indication can be reviewed in consultation with the midwife.
